We have partnered with Thrive Alliance and granted $100,000 for fiscal year 24-25 to support non-profit stipends for the COAD initiative. The COAD network coordinates to reduce community risk during all phases of disaster. Nonprofits play key roles in building community resilience through their daily work. While some explicitly focus on disaster preparedness, others reduce food insecurity, help keep community members housed, support families with children, and work to eliminate household health hazards, all of which significantly reduce community vulnerability to natural hazard events.

Sequoia Healthcare District has successfully deployed over 300 automated external defibrillators (AEDs) in public spaces, ensuring accessibility during emergencies. In 2024 alone, we replaced 132 aging AEDs to maintain the community's timely access to this vital life-saving equipment. This initiative spans various locations, including schools, parks, and community centers.

Furthermore, we have supplied 14 Lucas Device CPR machines to local fire departments and law enforcement vehicles, enhancing emergency response capabilities in our region.
